I need help figuring out how to do Stable avis and such that are just letters but have a BG behind them example: my avi

First off, you want to do the text (Make sure it is black.), next take the background and put it on top of the text, then set the background layer to addition. If you want an outline, right click on the layers and click new from visible, then right click on the new from visible layer and select alpha to selection, after you have the layer selected hover over the select tab (Top right) and choose border, before filling in the border create a new layer. Once you have the new layer fill the border in with the color you want, next use gaussian blur and blur it by 0.50 - 1.00. For a shadow go to filters, light and shadow, and drop shadow (remember to uncheck "allow resizing"). Last but not least, add the credits (of course lol). Hope this helps.
