so currently a Teir 3 artist but would like to move up to Teir 2, I need MAJOR help with how i create my hair, typically i would just cheat the system and do a Chalk brush, but now i feel it looks like i grabbed a slab of chalk and smeered it everwhere, making random overlaps and stuff, I really need help on it, i need a easy way to begin doing it, thanks, Asteria <3

I am nowhere near an expert but if you want something new to try I use the Dip Pen (soft) to map out the hair and then I use the Round Brush (rough) to do the details and shading

Although I don`t use Ibis, I second the Round Brush (Rough). I use it on the program I use and I presume its not too different, :) Edit (adding more): I never do grayscale when it comes to hair, so I suggest making a palette of the colors you need then going from there. I go dark to light, then decrease brush size and just repeat until it looks good. I do highlights last and adjust with the overall lighting of the piece. ^^ Edited at February 14, 2026 08:51 PM by Imperial Warmbloods

I use round brush (rough) and build up about 7 layers, the base being the darkest, then each layer above progressively getting lighter and smaller ;)

I will add to this and suggest you use hard pen at 100% force delays end and start to draw the base, then mechanical pencil #1(edit to thickness 0% start and end) and have on full force face to render the hair!
