Hi all! This is something I've been considering for a while and I would love to get some feedback on it. On DeviantArt, it's incredibly common to see horse/equine OC art sold/auctioned for actual money or for commissions to be offered in a similar style to the art sold on HEE. I would really love to be able to do something similar because let's be honest, real life and rent are expensive and ebs (unfortunately) don't pay the bills. However, I have no idea where to start. I fear that DeviantArt is too large of a platform for my art specifically to gain much traction because there are so many other artists offering similar services. Would it be worth a shot anyways? Do you have any recommendations for other platforms I could explore? Does anyone have experience advertising digital art in the real world? In addition, what would my art be worth in real money (USD)? Please also feel free to pm me if what you have to say doesn't necessarily fall beneath forum advertising rules. As a side note, I have offered RL traditional commissions for quite some time (primarily pencil/charcoal portraits) but I'm really not sure how to expand this either. Thank you so much for your time and I appreciate any feedback you may have <3 . . Note: I recognize that advertising real life/real money services is not permitted underneath the game rules. I do not have any sort of shop yet created and if/when I do, it will not be advertised on HEE. I am solely looking for feedback and advice if I do decide to explore this possibility. In addition, if anyone responds to this post who has experience selling art off-game, please be careful not to phrase anything as advertising. Thank you!! |

Yes, DA actually is a great place to sell manips for RL money. And yeah. Surprisingly people find you and your services. I did that for a very short period of time and I honestly don't have much art on my DA account. Only old old examples and I had several people contact me for manip services. And im not as popular as you lolol.... . Soooo yes! Definitely give it a chance! |

I was thinking the same thing! I personally would probably price a piece at $55 because a) I am highly unmotivated to do art and b) because it takes so long and I'm not even making minimum wage with that price. . I actually had someone ask about commissions but I didn't know what to say at the time so I said I didn't do them |
