I use Ibis Paint X, however I could probably follow instructions pretty closely.

I've been struggling with them for like 3 months and I'm going insane trying to figure it out 🙃

I would help you, but I don't know either.

I do it pretty simply, not that I've done it often.

Put some color on a new layer that's darker than the dappled area, then erase small dots in that area and smudge like hell to make it look right

Dapples in Ibis? Here are a few things that I use myself for dapples-

Brushes-

airbrush; small circles, easiest to make it 100% personalized with the size, but very time consuming.

Crayon; My most used for dapples if I am being honest, take colors that go well with the coat, lighter or darker depending on what you are looking for, make the size however you would like and just use it like a normal brush in the area you want the dapples, just be careful not to go over a spot you've already been over, change the opacity however you like, and it looks great (examples on instagram @xx.cuddle_bugz.xx for how my dapples look using Crayon)

And lastly- If you know anyone with a picture of dapples, you can take advantage of that and use the picture, just having to put the picture in multiple times for the best result (done this once, would not exactly recommend)
