Hi all, I am hoping someone could please offer me some advice. I am doing art for this guy below and I'm struggling to get the brown face to match. This is what I've done: - Body prep (not that it effects the colour?)
- Made the horse greyscale
- Added a new layer, made the layer "colour"
- I've eyedropped the colour from the colts image then put it over the manip horse.
- I've played with opacity, other filters (other than colour), tried lighter / darker etc.
Nothing I do, will make it look close in colour or look "natural". It looks so off that it's making me want to give up lol. Surly I'm missing something 😭 Any tips would be incredibly appreciated and helpful.

I haven't quite nailed the color change on Ibis either, but I've found that using the "Hue, Saturation, Lightness" filter usually gets me pretty close to the color I want. . On a layer above the horse, I draw a little blob of the color I'm going for, and then on the horse layer, I play around with the filter until the horse is a color that is very similar to the one I'm going for. Then I can adjust the color really easily by drawing on layers above and lowering their opacity (ex. I can make the coat a little lighter, a little darker, or a little more vibrant). . I'm no pro, but this is what I do and it usually works well for me! Best of Luck to you with your piece! |

I usually use the overlay setting for the color, then play with different shades and opacity. Im not great at describing it uh |
