I've heard quite a few artists mention clipping layers. I've found the button for it but what the heck are they? What are they used for? I'm looking for someone to explain this in Ibis Paint terms if possible <3

Its hard to explain but a clippimg layer. Makes it so its"clipped" to the layer below meaning anything on that layer will onpy appear on the layer below

For example

Horse layer is layer 1

Clipping layer above layer 1 and is shadows, you could draw iver the enire horse and it wont be on any of the bg, etc

Im awfil st explainin things but you can stack clippimg layers on tip of eachother
