Del,
Well, she was whiny in general, too. I was too small to pick up a german shepherd safely and refused, suddenly it was passed off as "refusing work."

Amongst other things.

One time she snapped at me for "snarking" at her when I said, in a polite tone, "alright, I understand" to something she explained.

Versa,

Thats such an odd reason to fire someone lol

If thats truly how it is there, then I would start looking for a new position. Working in an environment where you have to constantly second guess yourself is stressful. Not good for the mental :)

My prior internship I got "fired" from. Why? An older lady who was overseeing me and all of my daily activities dropped a can of treats on the floor. She looked really in pain when she bent over to pick them up, so I offered to help.

She looked like I just screamed an insult at her...

But like I said there is always two workers and we do it all together. The main person I work with and do everything with is the Manager, which is the owners second in command

Sometimes people will explain how to do something one way but actually complete the task another. We dont always completely verbalize our process. There might be some unspoken rules that are at play here that you can only see if you shadow the task. Im sure this is frustrating.

Yep. That is one of the main reasons I left my last job. I worked there for almost 6 years and did everything the same way all those years which is the way I was taught and told by the owner. Then suddenly everything I was doing was wrong.

I would ask to shadow the owner or a coworker again for those tasks. Maybe a step in the task is escaping you and you don’t even realize it.

Well, the owner can't have it both ways. They can't train their employees one way, and do the same thing a different way. It's just gonna confuse, and piss off said workers. They get paid to do what they're trained to do.

The way I was trained is the way she says it is supposed to be done. I seriously don't understand

I think so but I don't know. She will say one thing one day then say it is wrong another day. I only do things the way I was told or shown to do but then it is wrong.

Do what you're told, regardless of how you were trained.

Is the owner the type is person where they need to do things themselves in order for it to feel like it was done right? The issue could have nothing to do with you personally. Are there other workers there you could ask to see if there is something that you might be missing?

Hey everyone :)
I am looking for friendly advice (not critique) pretty please
This might get confusing but please bear with me <3

I use ibis Paint x and have their subscription

How do you visit new styles? A new app? I'm clueless. I try to do new things but feel like I keep falling back into the same techniques. I feel like my style needs to be completely revisited. I feel like I want my art to look different than it does but don't know how to make it different :|

What can I do to, I guess, switch it up? Give my art a new look?

Some pieces I say "I am proud of that" & others I just want to burn >:)

Thank you in advance <3

Some recent pieces below

You are So not alone. I dont really like my art and i feel like every time i try make something different it just looks worse and i fail to like it at all so it just sits and rotts.
However, recently Ive started scrooling through various DA tutorials. And they are helping me a lot with trying new styles and using different techniques, not all of them work out for me but every now and then i find one that does perfectly.
Like hair tutorials, body prep, background etc
Btw your art already is lovely. I like how neat it is nothing feels over blended

I can so relate! There was one point where I was super unahppy with my art and style, and even now, I'm the type that wants to pick it apart.
Try to identify what it is that you are unhappy with. Is it the hair? Shadows and highlights? General composition?
This type of reflection really helped me pinpoint what exactly it was that I was unhappy with. Then just mess around - try out new tools, new techniques! Checking out art tutorials can really help - even if they're aimed at beginners. Sometimes going back to the "basics" can help open your eyes to something you might want to try or do different. :)

Thank you all so much, I will definitely look into some tutorials and see how I go. You all do stunning art! It's nice when others can see where I'm coming from, I felt very alone in it that's for sure :p

I get how you feel! I used to always hate my art and never understood how to fix it. Unfortunately I have no idea how it happened, but now I have art I'm happy with 😅. I would definitely find artists to kind of reference. Like for example, I am the biggest Jello fan, so I always wanted my art to look like theirs. I wanted the smooth body style especially, and I've kind of created that in my own art!

Glad I am not alone in that feeling Sage c': and that is a great idea, I do tend to look at some of my fav artists. So many artists as a whole that are amazing. Currently I am in the "not good enough" stage as little things tend to get to me. Some art pieces I am proud of then they get no bids and it ruins my confidence. I try to think "maybe because it's RO" but then other auctions are going well. I examine the piece and pick it apart and put myself down -

Recent piece just for the hek of it :p
