Hello, I am new to Photoshop; as I have previously used Gimp and I was wondering which versions were the best for these circumstances. I am more photo-manipulation based and would like to step up my game.

The older versions of photoshop are probably more similar to what you're used to with gimp, but the latest version is the bomb dot com. If you're looking to up your game, CC is the industry standard right now.

I second this! I upgraded from Gimp to Photoshop as well, and CC is challenging and takes practice and experimenting but it's so fantastic and I love it<3
