I'm happy with the progress I've made throughout the past years, but lately, I've just been struggling to finish the pieces I start and when they are finished I just hate them. Like, I hate the style. And I used to really love it but now it's just not fun right now. I love doing the art, the steps, but now I'm not happy with the product anymore? Like, especially bg merges, I'm getting better, but nowhere near where I want to be. And horse style wise, I wish it was more realistic and detailed. . Ok, so like Gems style I know it's hers, but I wish my style was more like it, I want my pieces to turn out more like hers. Or Wings, I LOVE their style and want my horse style to be more fluent and realistic, but able to fit fantasy. Or Jellos, (my style is most similar, just not as talented XD), I love how fluid her style is between realistic pieces and fantasy ones. . Ugh, mostly just a ranting topic for myself, but yall are welcome to comment <3 |

I understand every bit of this, Yellow. I've had the same exact thoughts and it has really slowed my art production down. - I know it's hard to do, but the solution (at least in my case) is to stop comparing your art to others as that can really make things worse. Again, that's easier said than done. - All that said, I think your art style is amazing, you are one of my favorite artists! ❤️ |

If you continue to love the process, the outcome will take care of itself with practice ❤️ That is my best advice =D Don't take away the joy you get from doing art to chase a different style that you don't love creating. I only say this because it happened to me doing manips, and I NEVER recovered (hence why I don't do manips lolol). I promise you, everything will flourish with time if you continue to enjoy it because then you will keep doing it and get better and better! <33 -- Thought of something else! It is absolutely perfect to break away from what you think might be your "style" because that is when breakthrough are made! You don't have to always match a certain "style" that your other pieces have because art is a constant evolution =) Just try to make your evolutions what YOU want to do instead of just trying to make your outcome look more like someone else's =D Or else you'll just be a watered down version of them haha sorry for the essay! much love! ❤️❤️ |
