So I would put this in the official critique forum but I just feel like I'm having a lot more issues with this piece and would need more than one persons input. Anyway this is the picture I am looking for tips on the lighting mostly, I'm having a hard time getting the light to look natural on the wings so any suggestions on that is nice. Also does the horse stand out or does the hand? |

I love this concept! I'd consider making the hand smaller if possible. It's a little to big to be distinguishable; I just assumed it was some interesting, magical ground. I know it may screw with proportions. :/ If it was smaller where you could at least see one finger tip it might be easier to tell what it is. Your light source is also from underneath, and its moderately strong. I think it would look more natural if the underbelly had some of the brightest lighting, with it fading as it moved up the barrel. The lighting on the front legs/tail looks like it has the right idea of shading. Just like the belly, the underneath of the wings would also be affected by this light. Maybe not so much the wing in the background. Depending on how detailed you want/can get, each feather will react differently depending on the part of it. Otherwise some lighting in general could make it more natural . :) Other than that, the hair is gorgeous. The body prep looks beautiful and crisp. Beautiful job! Editing this: I've been staring at this for a while now and I need to correct that I meant that the under chest needs some lighting, the barrel might just need some softer light diffusion? |

I'm going to break this up so it doesn't become a large block that makes you go cross eyed. • 1. When I first looked at the piece, I was like: Hand? What hand? But as I looked closer it was a bit more distinguishable. I would maybe add a few more shadows to make it more hand shaped. • 2. The lighting on the belly is great, but carry it a bit higher on to the barrel, brushing the bottoms of the wings, to distinguish them as they are barly noticable. The front legs are awesome, but make the heart girth/underchest, a lighter lighter with the glow • 3. Other than that I love it! |

The art has already been sold. And she took into consideration most of these comments. I actually ended up messaging the person who received the art accidentally with a YAS QUEEN, just never got around to messaging Spirtasi personally. ;) Not bad for a large, cross eyed block. ;) |
