There are equine classes, I'm not taking any because I don't really have time with my required schedule so I'm not sure if they go into color genetics :) We do a lot of lab work which is transferrable to horses but don't work with them directly

The only things i'd really play with in this piece are the lighting and possibly softening the horse, depending on preference. Lighting changes would really make it pop, and I just personally prefer a softer horse.

As a whole though, looks great!

For sure! With me I just use the picker tool and select base, highlights, and lowlight colors. Then place them on a new layer and smudge. But i'm sure you'll figure it out quickly!
