Thank you! That’s what I was trying to figure out as I’ve been breeding and breeding horses so I was a little worried I was doing it wrong! Thank you!

Stella - since Buckskin is a bay-based color, the odds are good you'd get a silver bay foal

Any silver horse can have a silver foal, no matter what other genes are present, for homo silver both parents need to have silver

Thank you! I wasn’t too sure if one had to be just silver gene or not! Thank you for the advice!

If there's 1 silver gene Z, then there's always a chance of silver being passed.

Sorry, I meant does one parent have to have only the silver Gene? Would I still get a silver foal if I bred a silver buckskin and a silver bay together? Would there be a chance of them producing just a silver foal?

What do you mean by purely silver Stella?

For a silver foal to be born does one parent have to be purely silver?

I actually might be interested in this. :D
Edit: I have a couple of questions that I don't think were answered in the original post.

How long does this mentoring program last until a member can adopt a new newbie?

Is there an age limit to a stable before they are "cut" from the newbie part of the program?

What if the newbie breaks any rules of the program/begs?

What if the mentor doesn't help the newbie as much as they could/should?

What if the mentor doesn't have what the newbie needs? Like if they want to breed TB, for example, and the mentor only has ISH, do they HAVE to buy the newbie a TB of their choosing?

What is the minimum age a stable can be to be able to mentor a newbie?

Will there be a place for newbie stables to post exactly what they're looking for help in so that mentor stables can choose one that would work best with what they have?

I would love to help out, as well. I absolutely adore newbies!
As far as supplying horses- I think what may be easier is to do for breed differences between newbie and mentor, instead of supplying with several EEE+ mares (as KNN and RID can be *expensive*), is to give (and teach) how to find decent PEP+ to found off of. Basically, going through for sale horses or horses for breeding (since a lot of us built up from PEP or borrowed broods) and showing them what to look for. Buy the first mares for them. Providing examples. Avoiding cheap stallions. Perhaps help them get a barn or two and help fill it with geldings so they can choose their own path, with guidance and support. Some specific breed LBs aren't crazy expensive further down, and it gets them into the LB habit. It's more the items I'd be concerned about.
.
The newbie, perhaps, should leave when they feel most comfortable, assuming it doesn't go past a year- but, perhaps accuiring a new newbie could occur when the mentor feels stable enough in terms of funding, and after they've had their current one for a couple of months.
.
Just some suggestions. As I'm not the owner of the thread, I wouldn't base your decisions off of this post. Lol

I... have mixed feelings on this. Other than giving adice/tips ect. Nothing else should be given. This is for SEVERAL reasons. Each mentor cannot possibly give the same to their newb someone else could. This to me is a major issue because people will feel like they arent "getting what others are".

There are plenty of game guides already out there that people are directed to whenever they ask in chat. While its a cute idea, and i dont mind answering questions, i wouldnt want someone bombing my mailbox with hundreds of questions that can be answered by the game guides (this happens i dont know HOW many times in chat).

I was adopted myself on WP and it was a great help to have someone to interrogate with all my questions about the game lol
Can't wait to return that favor over here!

The issue that I have is that everybody does everything differently. There is no "right" way of doing anything. The way that I do things is different to the way that others do things and I disagree with quite a lot of things that I see on the forums and in chat. As for the guides.....

The way I see it is, if you are new, you are going to want to learn from anyone who is willing to teach you. Therefore, whatever way YOUR method is, I'm sure it will be helpful either way.
Just like teachers all around the world - they teach differently, but they all have the same idea and the same thing that they work towards. They just have you learn differently.
