Hi everyone! I'm new here and have no idea what to do/start going towards.

What do people consider "rare" or uncommon coat colors, and how should I work towards breeding them? And if I have a horse, what point does the coat become common with how many other horses have that coat? What do people like?

So the majority of coat "colors" are decently common. However, there are a few exceptions including Wild Bay, Black Chestnut, and Dark Liver Chestnut. Wild Bay was a newly added gene and then the two chestnuts are also decently new/rare because they require a specific combination of genes and a lot of luck. I'd say Buttermilk Buckskin is also relatively uncommon but not quite to the same degree. Any horse less than around 1/15 color rarity could be considered "rare" but there's not a lot of demand, even if horses are 1/1 (the only horse in the game with that specific combination of color + patterns). I'd recommend checking out genetics guides in the forums to figure what genes those colors require. If you want to breed for Wild Bays specifically, start by capturing horses and looking for those with the A+ agouti gene (notice, not At). Hope this helps!

Hi Stargazers! When you rate a horse, it will tell you how rare the coat is. For instance, this guy https://horseeden.com/horse.php?id=43732466 from my stable isn't rare at all. Some people breed for ratings and don't care about color, some are just the opposite and want rarity and looks but don't care about ratings. Some breeds come in more colors than others, too. RID can't have appaloosa, KNN have to be appaloosa, SH can be anything, and so on. Really, you just need to decide what makes you happy and focus on that. :)
