It will not let me change my mares name back to what it originally was. If you look in her awards, you will see that her name did work and now it cuts it off.

Odd. I copied and pasted the name on one of my horses and it worked fine. Maybe there's an extra space in there? I know the symbols can be finicky sometimes as they use more than one character.
