Barn manager issues

So, I am new to the barn manager, but for the past month, she's been entering my horses into shows, and every single time I lose more than I gain. I have her set to only enter the horses that are ready, but I keep losing money. Is this supposed to happen? I could barely afford last RO since I didn't make any profit, and March is probably going to be another struggle too. Does anybody know what I should do?
