What is the weathers purpose? For example today is a hurricane... what should I do does it affect my horses?

It wont do anything to effect your horses. To my understanding, weather is there for role-playing purposes only. :) |

And I'm pretty sure it deals a bit with growing hay, as well. For example, rainy days will up the quality/yield of your hay pastures. |

Bad weather (hurricanes, dry weather) effects hay/crop qualities as well as trail rides. The more rainy it is the higher the crop/hay quality.
The weather was around long before the role play. |
