Read through this small FAQ guide before asking. If you can't find what you're looking for, please leave a question here and I will answer as soon as I can!

Can you explain this process better?
🎅 You pick a division that you can afford to send a gift in.
(If you want to change divisions, message me ingame, Stable ID # 18024)
🎅You will receive a gift within the value of the division you sign up for from your "Secret Santa" (i.e. other player in that division)
🎅 You must register on Elfster to participate. If you have joined Elfster last year, so you will (maybe) have to delete your old account and create another account. Follow the link to your chosen division that can be found in our main thread under Contests.
🎅 You must register by the deadline date. You will have to wait until December 8th to give your gift out after names are drawn.
🎅 You will need to check Elfster after December 8th to find out who you have drawn for the exchange. This will not be done in-game.
🎅 If you have not received a gift by December 22nd, PM me in-game (#18024).
🎅 If you still have not received a gift by December 26th, you will receive a gift from me or one of my gift helpers.


How do I sign up?
🎅 Click on the link to the division of your choosing in the main thread under Contests. If you are not registered with Elfster, you will need to. If you have joined Elfster last year, so you will (maybe) have to delete your old account and create another account.
🎅 When registering, use your Stable Name in the First Name slot and use your Stable ID in the Last Name slot.
🎅 We don't want our RL information getting out there, so please refrain from posting any of that info. Use your phantasy for the adress.

<font class="mainlineblack">🎅 If you do not use your Stable Name AND ID#, you will receive up to three messages on Elfster asking you to change your info. If you don't, you will be removed.
🎅 IF YOU CREATED AN ACCOUNT LAST YEAR, YOU MAY NEED TO DELETE IT AND RE-REGISTER IN ORDER TO JOIN THIS YEAR.


Who can sign up?
🎅 This is open to everyone of HEE!
🎅 You do not need to have a Premium membership to participate. However, please indicate this on your Elfster account so that people know not to send you straws.


Can I sign up more than once for different stables I own?
🎅 Nope. Only one sign up per player, not per stable.
🎅 Anyone found to have signed up for more than one division will be asked once to choose a single division and will be removed from the others. If you do not respond to the message sent to you asking you to only pick one division, you will be removed from all the divisions and will need to re-enter to participate.


How much does this cost?
🎅 Gift value range starts at 20k in the lowest division and caps at 250k in the highest division.
🎅 You division will state what your gift value must fall in.
🎅 I highly suggest sending a gift around the midpoint of your division's range if you are unsure how much to spend.
🎅 No RL money is to be used unless purchasing an upgrade, money fairy visit, etc. for your giftee.


May I give a gift that exceeds the division's spending limit?
🎅 Yes! But you may not give a gift over 250k no matter what division you've signed up for.
🎅 If you do overspend your gift requirement, remember that that doesn't mean you will receive a gift that overspends.


Do I need to get a gift that my person has wished for?
🎅 While it isn't required to give a gift that is wished for, it is nice! Wishlists are simply guidelines to let other players know what you are looking for.


Someone gifted me a horse and I don't think it meets the gift range. What do I do?
🎅 Not all horses are created equal. A PEE ISH with an average pedigree is going to be valued less than a PEE AQX with an average pedigree simply because of the sheer numbers of ISHs in the game compared to AQX.
🎅 Look at the pedigree. A better pedigree will bump up the value of a horse.
🎅 Look at progeny in studs and mares. The fewer decent foals a mare or stud has, the more their value drops regardless of pedigree.
🎅 Use the Search Horses function in the game to look up horses for sale that are the same breed, sex, age and ratings of the horse (or horses) you were gifted. I suggest sorting the search using Price: High to Low or Price: Low to High. Find the average sale price.
🎅 If, after all your searching, you are still convinced the gift does not meet value requirements of your division, please message me!


Someone gifted me items/tokens. How do I figure out the value of them?
🎅 The easiest way is to search Member Items or go to the game Store to find out the average value of each item or token. Very rarely will a single item/token meet the requirements for your division's gift value so expect multiples of these gifts.
🎅 If, after all your searching, you are still convinced the gift does not meet value requirements of your division, please message me!


What are things we can add to our wishlists?
🎅 Anything! I have listed a few popular wishes.
🎅 Artwork
🎅 Breeding stock
🎅 Upgrades
🎅 Straws or free breedings
🎅 Show geldings
🎅 Items such as glass or maps
🎅 EBs



Another thing I want to point out, as I have often seen this in the past years:

I know, everyone in the game wishes for an EEE - but please stay fair and modest with your wishes 🎅
You should not wish for things, that do not meet the price range of your division and that you would not be able to afford in return, too. Thanks.

You can put in any fantasy date or your real one.

As you do not use real names there, it will not really matter ;)

Everything is new on elfster *sighs*

Elfster is a gift exchange site that obviousely tries to link users to well known market places.

But we do only gift and wish for HEE items.

You will have to use the "magical options" - you can find this link at the right from the "what are you wishing for" textbox.

There you can use the 2nd line "just text"

and write your wishes there.
