Is it worth investing in a round pen and training up my horses before taking them on the Explore page? WIll this make a difference to what their bravery rating will be?

Sorry no the rating for bravery level will not change.

But, massive improvement with exploring once they reach 100%.

It takes quite a lot of weeks to get them to 100%, so don't get too excited. About 6 weeks for E / W level bravery, can be longer. Target the best 10 and leave the others for another time. The round pen trains 10 horses a day.

You can use the rusty bits to get a few more training sessions per day (you collect 3 parts while exploring and craft the bit).

You can stock up a few 100% trained explorers using the search horses/auction function. They are pretty cheap. You don't require high general ratings to explore well just the bravery rating counts.

Thank you very much for your response. That has cleared up a few misconceptions for me. I will come and take a look at your auction as I do enjoy the Explore feature of the game and would love a couple of brave horses to complete this with.

I shall invest in a Round pen and get training some of the others up. Thanks again!
