Maybe it's just me, but I was away from the game for a bit and came back to my acct being 150k in the negative and no horses (that part a given.) Any advice on how to make ground on that without having to spend actual money? :l lol

Building up from the negatives is pretty hard because you have nothing to pull from. I would probably suggest the mini games and maybe selling some items, if you have any.
Once you get out of the negatives and have some ebs to play with I definitely suggest showing

If I´d was in your position, I would think of selling a barn to get out of the negatives and to being able to afford a couple level 3+ show horses maybe ;)
