I would say you´d better make up your mind and first decide what you´d want to go for at all.

There are tons of variations how one can play the game - and each one is "the right one" for that player. So giving advise is quite hard atm.

Usually my first advise to a new stable is to get 20 level 3+ horses, assign them to 2 riders and show show show them to earn money.
In the meantime learn about the game and decide what you´d want to do.

In those 1-2 months you should have earned a little money to get you the breeding stock for anything you´d want to do, no matter if you want to go for color breeding or ratings or both ;)

There are some threads with advise how to start at the forums and you can look into my stable blog, too, and maybe find a little helpful advise ;)
