I personally prefer pastures, I sell a majority of the hay as they make more than I need, I feel theyre more worth it than barns for the most part just gotta manage and rotate so they can be dual purpose effectively

Geldings train faster than mares or stallions, so they are in the money for showing faster.

As stated above they train faster therefore are able to show more often. Also by gelding it helps to clean up the game so to speak of so so or poor producing studs that flood the market.
