Could someone possibly tell me in detail about how to participate in Futurities? The game guide does not answer the questions I have and, being that this is my first time entering one, I would like to get it right!

My questions are:
* When do you start showing with your yearling?
* Is there a certain place to enter these shows at, or is it just the regular "Enter Shows" on the "Manage Horse" dropdown?

Also, with the training, I have officially run out of space on my BM. I decided to switch her just to my geldings (I dont know if it was a good idea) and I'm attempting to hand show the rest. I'm not sure what to look for however, to know that a horse is ready to show and will do well at earning me ebs.

My questions are:
* Can someone who does their own showing give me some tips?
* Was my decision of switching the BM to my geldings a good one?
* How can I tell if a horse is ready to show?

Personally, I prefer to hand show my geldings. This is how I show them:

#1) PPP+ (but I'm starting to transition to PEP+) geldings/stallions.

#2) I SD my geldings. Most in XC so when they're placing first, I can also win some horse races.

#3) I only show horses that are 2yrs+ or have had 4 training sessions.

#4) Okay so here is where I get complex so hang with me. I enter my gelding into shows (lets assume they're all 1-2 yr olds that meet #3). The next day I see who earned a profit. Those horses show again (on the easy entree page they appear in green). When horses level up, I usually wait about 1-2 training sessions before showing again. If I'm not busy, I'll enter everyone who placed 8th because even though they didn't earn profit they were 1 place away from doing so.

#5) Reap the Profits! I've found that having multiple levels and ages in my show geldings helps spread out the amount that don't show do to leveling up. Generally, I make about 200k a week give or take, and that # goes up the more they level up or you buy more show horses.

Hope this helps! ;)

No, my breeding stock will be shown in AD, and my geldings (some are AD some are SD) will be shown in what they are assigned in. :)

Alright, I can hopefully be some help with those AD guys ;)

Yearlings: Enter at 6 training sessions. I show everything SSS+.

Based on last weeks results:
Enter 1-8th placers - now
Enter 10th and below - next week

If horses show dates are 4 wks old, they placed 1-9th, and they meet these scores:
Dressage: 70%+
XC: 17 and under
Jumping: 20 and under

If you need some further explanations on anything, definitely ask =)

Futurity. You want as many days showing as possible. Which is why it is good to maximize that by breeding all Futurity foals on the day of rollover and showing them that day. Futurity foals can show immediately. They should be training in the discipline they are to be shown and shown three days a week. After that cross your fingers and pray they succeed.

I'm trying to learn more about futurities, myself....

MC, do they show in different shows than the normal nightly shows?

Should you show them with only 1 training session?

And you can train and show them in AD, right?

They only get points from regular shows. Yes you show them with only one training session. Can't remember exactly, but I believe training in said discipline gives more points towards those stats? That part I can't quite remember exactly.
