Hi all! I recently purchased a premium membership here on HEE. With that being said, how does one go about using the barn manager for showing their horses? I have her set to show competitive horses only. She has hired riders for me. Do I have her manage my geldings and my geldings only? Do I have her manage all of my horses? Is this doing me more harm then good? I am utterly confused on what to do and I appreciate all the help I can get. TIA! :)

Hey! Congrats on the new premium membership! I don't know a huge deal, but I'm sure I can help you anyway :) The BM is a godsend for me. She manages all of my horses as I am a small stable(her max is 200 horses). She is super convenient and minimises the work you have to do. However, it really depends on the size of your stable and how many horses you want to have showing. She only manages up to 200, so anything more than that you have to show by hand. But she basically does everything you would need to do if you showed by hand, she just does it all for you. You have her on a good showing setting. If horses are 'ready to compete', it means they are in the money. If only conpeditive horses are set to show on your BM page, you are almost guarenteed a profit after the show entries. It is easy to hire riders through her, and re-assign riders and horses when they are at different training levels. However, she doesn't pay or train your horses- you need to do that yourself weekly. As for what horses she manages, that is up to you. I recommend the geldings because they are most compditive, but if all your gelding are assigned and there is still space, I would add other horses for sure. The more profit you can make off showing, the better!
