I am entering my 4th month of playing this game, and I am extremely confused about showing. I have read a bunch of guides and I still don't know what's going on. I realized a couple weeks ago that in order for your horses to turn green, you still have to show them. I had horses that haven't shown since December because I didn't realize I had to keep showing them. I thought they just automatically turned green when they were ready. I have a basic understanding of when a horse is ready to show, and have turned a couple horses green over the last two weeks. But this week my understanding has abandoned me, because I started off the week with 6 horses in the green, tuesday with 3, and now I have none in the green. I even lost a good bit of money showing on Tuesday. Can anyone help me get a better understanding of showing? Again, I've read a bunch of guides, but I'm still confused. TIA

Glad you figured out that horses only turn green if you show them; just a refresher, green means it's "In the money" or it'll place well and make a profit for you. I briefly glanced through your horses, and they are mostly AD so I can't be of much help there, but I will still try!
With my SD ponies, I would give two weeks to "train" and get better in their discipline. Two weeks after they leveled up, I'd enter them in a show and based off how they did, I either let them sit another week or continue showing them.
I would try this guy in Dressage since he hasn't been shown in Dressage for roughly a month after leveling. I'm not a huge shower, and in no way claim to be a pro at it; this is what I personally do with my horses and make a decent profit, but there are more than one way to do it. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me!

Generally speaking if a horse is in the green at the start of the week but isnt in the green the very next day it is because it levelled up! Horses can bump to the next level mid week, and therefore wont be competitive in their new level. If a horse isnt competitive in their level, it wont show up green.

Quick confession: I did steal this next part of my reply from a previous question about showing I answered. However, I think you essentially have the same question, and this should be helpful.

Basically, horses place 1-7 when they are in the middle to end of training through a level. Once they start a new level they will place low as they still have to learn those new "skills." They wont be as seasoned as horses they are competing against, and thus wont preform well against them. You want to try to only show horses who place 1-7 as their winnings will be more than what you paid for their entry, aka profit.

When you are on the showing view page of a barn, you will see that the only horses that show up green will be horses who placed 1-7, but you might also see horses with 1-7 placings recorded but who arent green colored. That is what indicates to you that a horse has levelled the night before, and you shouldnt show it, as it wont place well anymore.

Horses level naturally through training, and their levelling isnt affected much by showing. So alot of showing is making educated guesses as to whether or not a horse has enough training in their level to place well. I like to wait 4 weeks from when an Elite horse levelled to re enter them into shows, and 5 weeks from when a Premium horse levelled.

So, for example, this E rated horse is showing this show result but its not displaying in green.

D1 5/12-1

He won the class, but that night he also started training in D2, so the game knows that I shouldnt re-enter him the next day as he 100% wont place 1-7. Since he is an Elite horse, I wont enter him for another 4 weeks so he is able to catch up with training.

For clarity, I will try entering him again the week of June 7th. He will either place 1-7 and be in the green, or he will place 8 or 9, which means I will wait another week to enter him again. Its also possible he will place 10th, 11th, or 12th, which means ill wait another 2 weeks to enter him.
________________
My reccomendation to you would be to pick a single discipline for each of your horses (ideally pick the best rating: if its a PEP, make it a cross country horse), and let them train for two weeks. Then, just once, enter every single one in a show of their new discipline to get fresh showing dates. Once you have done that, try following this simple formula:

On a monday:
Enter all 8-9 placers the week after they placed 8 or 9
Enter all 10-12 placers 2 weeks after placing 10-12 (elite horses) or 3 weeks after placing 10-12 (premium horses)
Enter all 1-7 placers 4 weeks after placing 1-7 (elite horses) or 5 weeks after placing 1-7 (premium horses)

On Tuesday/Wednesday:
Just enter green horses

This is a truly foolproof method, and if you follow it blindly, you wont even need to understand all that I explained above. Though of course, it is helpful to know ;)

Hoping that helped!! Showing is tough to get started but really easy once it finally clicks. KEEP TRYING!!! I will also plug my own guide here, as I do think there are some helpful tips in there, but its kind of buried under topics in the guides form.
