Hey, I'm a new member and have lots of dumb questions.

I recently bred my horses and got this filly who has a colour rarity of 1 of 5.

I'm looking to breed for colour in this game but know nothing about genetics and my question(s) are:

1. How much would she sell for theoretically

2. Is 1 of 5 really all that rare? How often does that occur?

3. If I were to keep and breed from her would there be a higher chance of her producing rare coats as well, especially when mated to a stallion with a similar rating

4. What's the best option?

If you are looking to breed for color, rarity is not what you want to be paying attention to; instead, focus on homozygous patterns and dilutions. If you don't know what that means, homozygous just means that a horse carries two copies of a specific gene with a 100% chance of passing it on to offspring. For example, homozygous tobiano (represented as To or to) would look like this: ToTo. So while your filly is 1 of 5 rarity, she has no homozygous traits and very few patterns for a color horse. Ideally, focus on patterns like tobiano, splash white, rabicano, and appaloosa; sabino is really personal preference, I choose to avoid it in my color horses because homozygous sabino can present as all white or medicine hat that covers up all other patterns and base colors. You also want to focus on dilutions like dun and silver which are sought after. Brindle and chimera are also highly sought after when it comes to color, but these traits cannot be bred for and are entirely random and fairly rare. If you have questions, PM me!
