Hummer read what I just wrote! It's so doable!

But I suppose I donÂ’t understand how people can call a non-professionally trained dog a professional service dog?

I get an emotional support animal but a “service dog” should be a professionally trained animal.

Capp I know a few good friends of mine are better than most professional trainers (no certification for this either from government) Both of them worked in rescue with me. I turned into somewhat of a cat trainer. Mine are trained, not to tricks but to simple commands. Same with my friends, they use the on hand training (& LOVE) when they worked in rescue. their service dogs are as good as any dog from a school

PawPaw, usually not. But some clubs has it as requirement since they give out straws

For example, I would feel totally comfortable training my own service dog because I have prior experience in dog training. I would much rather do that than pay $10k to send it to a trainer.

It's sad she doesnt have more Ws but I love the rating and she's pretty so I personally would keep her! I don't do AAs and I'm kinda newish so take it with a grain of salt though

Do you have to be premium to join a club?

It's why a lot of people turn to owner training. It also means the dog's training can be customized to the person's individual needs

@Capp, I think the difference is trained professionally to me means trained by an organization or business vs by a competent dog owner.

Yes, but professional training costs a lot in all countries or am I wrong now?
Cappuccino
11:44:07 Heyy it's Capp
Right, but if a dog is a service dogÂ….shouldnt it be trained in its job?

A professionally trained service animal can easily run into the tens of thousans

11:43:25 Hummer
@Capp, I think the only reason is that professional training costs A LOT.
Cappuccino
11:42:44 Heyy it's Capp
Genuine question…why should t service dogs be professionally trained? How else can it “serve” if it’s not trained to do so? Or am I missing something

All I know is when I was a teen I worked at a grocery store and some young guy came in with a husky puppy and claimed it was a service animal and was not wearing a vest or any identification showing it was in training or something. I asked him to leave and he got mad at explaining his puppy was a fully trained service animal.. 5 minutes later the puppy is pissing on the floor and barking at other customers. I makes me angry that people are so entitled
