@Lucky, glad I am not the only one who feels the same way. XD I too have noticed that the focus of english is showing rather than the health or behavior of your horse. English riding taught me a lot about body mechanics, but I am ready to move on and learn more about communicating with my horse.
not to say there arent absolutely lovely people in the english community some of my best friends ride english but ive found in general people have been way more stand offish and rude and toxic
girl i feel you, i know both western and english have their issues but i feel soo screwed over by people in the english world in a way that never happened or that ive ever seen in the western one plus yeah the drama and the toxicity and just the weirdness i know its a generalization too but ive seen WAY more behavioral issues in english horses than western ones as well and ive ridden quite a few horses in a variety of disciplines
@lucky, that is why I am not done with riding english. Was terribly screwed over by a popular english trainer and I am just done with the drama of the english riding community in my area.
yeah that is ridiculous, saddle fit is first for the horse but also very important the rider too im sorry she shamed you too where do some people in the horse world get that kind of nerve its insane😭
@Lucky, oof, I did feel like this saddle fitter knew what she was doing, but I didn't like that she shamed me for not wanting to buy a saddle that didn't fit ME and I couldn't afford a custom one.
Gah, talk about a damn heart attack... I thought the game mail said she sold for 200k. I never listed her so was full confused. Turns out I am tired, she was bred to not sold LOL -HEE Click-
i am furious with stubben, they sold me a saddle that did not fit my horse and the flocking was so messed up it hurt my horses back really bad and he is still recovering its been MONTHS zero support from the company
wtf!! that is ridiculous im so sorry i have an issue with a lot of saddle fitters for stuff like that and also lack of actual proper good training, non biased saddle sales, etc the list goes on it honestly might be easiest to try and measure your horse yourself and then go from there
If I ever get another horse I'm not sure what to do about getting a custom fitted saddle. The saddle fitter everyone uses around here tried to sell me a saddle that didn't fit me (it was too small) and told me that if I didn't buy it I was mistreating my horse.
I got incredibly lucky that I picked up a 2k saddle for 300 at a sale in my area before getting Classy and when I got it checked this summer they thought I had bought him a custom saddle.
