They put me in a shared room after 36 hours of induced labor on pitocin and an emergency csection, and I hadn't slept in two days, and someone else came into my room at 2 AM with her new baby and entire fucking family
They did put my placenta in the freezer though and I am still not sure why. I found it a couple of days later when looking for meat to grill. Picked up a gallon freezer bag and thought “hmm, what is this? It has no label” showed my husband he said “oh thatÂ’s your placenta! They thought we might want to keep it and I didnÂ’t want to bother you so we kept it” 😳
These hospital stories are part of the reason I gave birth at home. I didnÂ’t have to go anywhere, I was able to cuddle with my dog when I wanted to, and after it was all over the midwives tucked me into my own bed and then cleaned up the mess. They even left me a snack on my bedside table before sneaking out like they were never there. Highly recommend.
Ven, goodness!! Especially heavily medicated after a c section, dude I lost it when everyone started coming into my room. My mo mess my support person, but she left for a bit, the nurse took my daughter to give me a break to sleep (bless her), and as I was attempting to sleep? EVERYONE came into my room. Everybody. One of my nurses had it out for me, and even called a social worker under a report of *young mom, dad not involved* LOL. Dad was involved entirely, just out of state at the time. It was horrid.
I know! Stinky is a cutie pie! But between my PCOS and my husband most likely passing on his T1 diabetes were at the agreement of if it happens it happens if not we'll be the best aunt and uncle. I also coach kids between the ages of 8-16 so I have fulfillment there as well with working with those kids.
