(It's fine ^-^) Ellie felt her heart skip a beat before speeding up slightly. It wasn't the biggest gesture but she appreciated it all the same. We're doing this. She thought quietly before relaxing into his hand. She looked at him through the corner of her eye, seeing his thin smile across his face. She needed to say something, and she knew they needed to talk about whatever was going on, but now seemed to peaceful to do so.

Together, they reached the horse's field. Sam let go of Ellies hand, still silently peaceful. Sam knew they needed to talk about whatever this was. was it anything? he wasnt sure. "ready?" he asked Ellie as he hopped lightly onto Nero'd back after tacking up. The horses had had a lovely time in his friends lush pasture.

Ellie swiftly tacked up and clambered onto Astras back lightly before giving a small nod to Sam as a gesture to go. Ellie really wasn't someone to let people in the way she was starting to with Sam, but she wasn't even sure what she thought about him. She knew she had a bit of a thing for him but she couldn't decide if it was just because she liked the idea of having someone by her side the way Sam was or if it was actually him.

Nudgng Nero's side, Sam joined Ellie's side, eyes on the gorgeous sunset in front of them. In no time they were almost home. As they drew in to the yard, Sam patted Neros neck and turned him out into his pasture. The night was warm, so he would be fine without a rug. He saw Ellie was finished, and sat crossleged on a small hilltop, watching the sky change its hues to a deep, orangey gold. Ellie came over and sat down, and after a few minutes of content silence, Sam finally plucked up the courage to ask. "Ellie, what are we? Because its killing me not knowing whats going on between us. He said this quietly, voice filled with emotion as he watched the sunset beside her.

Ellie rested peacefully, laying down on the small hill, gazing up ad the sky when Sam threw his question at her, the very same one she was playing with. She took a small breath, as though she was trying to figure it out. "Sam," She started quietly, "I don't know what we are- or what's going on..." She paused, "And I don't want to say the wrong thing right now because if I do it might make everything fall apart. But I don't know if I just like the idea of you or just someone at my side." Ellie held her breath for a moment as she waited for a reply. Edited at May 26, 2021 02:01 PM by Belle

Sam looked at her from his position on the hilltop. 'i guess i dont either. but i dont want to jeapordize what we have.' he said. 'but it also really hurts not to know, so we have to figure it out.' sorry short!

Ellie furrowed her brows slightly as she sat up and tried to see what was going on in his head, but all she could see was a reflection of what was happening in her own. "I know it hurts," She murmured softly, "I know how it feels but I can't answer that for you..." Ellie noted quietly, "What do you think we are?"

Sam paused for a minute, trying to think of what to say. 'i dont know. are we friends? are we something more/ or maybe we just like eachothers company.' he said, all his feelings jumbling about in his head as he looked at the girl beside him. these past few months had been a whirlwhind, but in the end they needed to settle on the more serious things. Sam kind of knew that from the start the had had a crush on eachother, but was it just that? a crush?

Ellie hugged her knees for a while as he spoke, mind wondering more than listening. In the past she would have made a joke about this and leave it at that, but if felt so much more serious than that and she didn't know how to react. "I don't know," she repeated before letting herself flop back on the grass.

'i dont know either.' said sam, laying bak with his head on the grass and looking up at the now purpley-black sky, a few little stars deciding to say hello amidst the clouds. They both lay there togethr, peacefully yet not really knowing what to say. Sam just hoped Ellie would speak first.
