Sam smiled a little, enjoying the moment. Stepping back, he said "i won't be gone long. just a week or so." His taxi came rond the caorner. Slinging his backpack over one shoulder, he said "i'll be back before you know it." before giving her one last little smile, and walking towards the taxi, feet crunching on the gravel of the drive.

"You better be back soon. As great as Aaron is, he isn' the most helpful person ever. I've gotten used to having help around here." She warned with a small laugh before giving a him a curt wave and mouthing the word 'goodbye' once he had jumped in the taxi.

Sam said one last goodbye, before the taxi driver rounded the corner once more, this time carrying Sam with him. It was a long drive to the airport, and he mainly slept the whole way. Sam boarded the plane quickly, and was soon on his way. Stretching, Sam took his bags and exited the aircraft, muscles aching a little from sitting down. A private black car was awaiting him at the departures area. He finished the long drive from the airpor into the city, sighing and watching the dull grey rain drizzle down the tinted window. Sam felt like he had been beaten, bashed and dragged through a bush, but he till was somehow OK. but, he realised, there was something missing. At first, he couldntput a finger on it, but then he realised. It was Ellie. Always happy always smiling, ellie seemed to brighten her surroundings. sam had taken her for granted, but he had not realised how much he missed her when she wasnt there.

Ellie firrowed her eyes slightly as she watched a the taxi roll along the gravel road and out of sight. She stood for a moment to two before walking back to the back towards the barn. There were still loads to do before lessons started, which started to ive her the heavyset feeling in her heart. She made her way to Aarons accommodation, barged in and woke him up, ordering him to come and help her out. That's what he got paid to do, right? Right. They quickly made their way down to the yard, finning off the mucking out. It was so silent. Maybe she had just gotten used to chatting to Sam so much. So she didn't even try and chat, just left the silence still and bare. The same thing went on for the next day or two but only then had she really started to notice how different the two were. While sometimes reserved, Sam had a heart of gold- most of the time, and was always willing to put up with her rubbish, and he seemed happy whenever she was aroubd which seemed to radiate and give her a constant smile. She wasn't too sure that Aaron was the same. He put up with her, but he didn't always radiare that same feeling, nor was he a good as Sam. They were different and it gave her something to compare Sam to, which started to tell her how great he was.

The taxi pulled up otside his father's polished grey, modern office block that belonged to his company. He got out and grabbed his bags, walking slowly to the door. Sam hated city life. cars and smoke and pidgeons and people. so many people. all around him, hustling and bustling on their way to and from work. Walking in through the slididng doors into the dull office block, he was hit by a wave of anticeptic, computers and depression. The thing was, as he spoke quietly to the workers, nobody seemed too sad about his fathers death. To be honest, Sam couldnt blame them. Father hadnt been fair to his employees, he knew as much. So after getting the details, he changed into a dull black outfit and waled slowly to the church where the funeral would be taking place. Throughout the whole thing he just stared ahead, not a tear in his eyes. Getting back to his hotel, he sank, fully clothed into the matress, falling into a jumbled world of dreams.

Ellie worked tiredly for a few hours before rest finally came to her, in a hay bale. Aaron had promised to work the rest of the day, but she still ended up in a bale of hay. By the time the morning came, it was almost 12 O'clock, which made her almost jump out of her skin. "Aaron!!" She yelled from her uncomfortable position in the lost. She did get a reply, of what she was rather thankful for. "I've done everything for a change. You can have a day off!" He called, of what almost drowned Ellie in relief. She stood up and made her way to her cabin, tickling Neros muzzle on the way past. She hadn't seen his caretaker since Sam had left, so just assumed that they had come early. She really wasn't sure what to do with her day. She always had Sam to annoy, and Aaron was working and doing school so he wasn't around.

Sam hung around, helping out with legal documents and things for a few days. The company was all running smoothly, a new head allready aquired. As he was sitting there on a grey laminated leather sofa, he was struck with a thought. i'm an orphan now. he supposed it was quite movie-like, being an orphan. like in Annie or something. But really, it was just quite painful. striking the thought from his head, he left the hotel room and made his way for a taxi. Finally, once seated, he was going home. Sleeping for most of the way, he was jolted awake by the familliar sound of gravel on a driveway.

Eventually, she settled with a short but treacherous hack to the beach with Frost. They actually got there without issue but the only thing that Ellie had a problem with was the water. The water she ended up being dumped in. She wasn't angry or anything, she actually almost laughed at herself, just sitting in the water with legs crossed and hair more than soaked for a few moments. Once she started chill, she called Frost and bribed her with treats before leading her slowly back to the yard. Her shirt was soaked through, along with her jeans but it was really a relief from the scorchingly hot weather.

Sam got out the car door, opening the boot to grab his bags. It felt so good to be back. Thanking the driver, the car sped off, leaving him to see a sodden Ellie dragging Frost along. Sam grinned "hello, don't you look nice today." he snickered a little, but eventually relaxed in a warm smile. "it's so good to be home."
