Dakota saw the guy from yesterday and had to resist looking toward him. She kept guiding her mare around the ring, now loping. She hopped off, drawing a large X in the middle of the arena and practiced loping around it as if it were a barrel.

Once Secret could do the pattern with her eyes closed, Dakota glances at the time. 3pm. Shit. Riding for 3 hours... She thought, hopping off ad walking Secret to the trailer for a break before the competition. She gave the mare water and some hay, exchanging the bridle for a halter.

Dakota sat on a lawn chair next to her horse, watching the sounds of the rodeo and occasionally responding to texts. "Only a half hour, then we go warm up, girl." Dalota said, patting Secret wh's haynet was empty.

After a bit more waiting, Dakota hopped onto Secret. The drill team was already out, flashing the flags left and right. Dakota walked Secret to an empty medium-sized pen before loping around a bit. "Dakota riding Secret is our last contestant tonight!" The announcer said as Dakota walked the prancing Secret to the alley. Dakota held her in for a moment before letting the mare take off like a bullet, weaving expertly around the barrels. Dakota's stomach tightened as Secret nearly knocked over the last barrel. Dakota gave the mare rein, hoping Secret was at top speed, as they sped through the timer. 15.65 seconds. Dakota was mindlessly patting Secret's neck as she walked out of the arena.

Dakota won third again this time, staying at her position. She went to collect another check and her buckle, noticeing the same guy again. She shot him a smile before collecting her items and walking out. She was blushing before she got to the truck where a very tired looking Secret stood, one hoof relaxed.
