"ugh, thanks." Sam said, a little embarrased. "yeah, he has always done that, not sure why...weve tried training him not to.." he said. "he also does it with crisp packets and just general bits and pieces of litter on the road. sam said. "as Astra ever done things like that? spooking at stuff, i mean." he said, continuing at a slow but steady pace along the winding trail.

"Not from what I remember." She shrugged, "Well, maybe once... I fell off that time." She rolled her eyes before speaking up again. "Have you ever tried flapping plastic bags around him? Desensitizing?" She remembered doing that with Frost at some point, just to get her ready for hacking, "It'll either make things better or worse." She added as a warning.

"well, lets just say, it did not go well." sam said shortly, remembering being thrown across the floor by his horse, whilst weilding a plastic bag in front of multiple people. he shuddered at the memory of the incident. he caught sight of the yard just aroun the corner of the sandy trail. he had enjoyed this hack, him an nero rrarely hacked in company, and they hadnt been on a beach ride in ages.

"Ahh, I see." She said knowingly. "Try again, see what happens," Ellie said in a silky voice, just to be a little annoying. As they edged closer to the yard, Ellie took her feet out of the stirrups and let her legs hang down Astras sides until they came to a halt. "Well," She started, swinging her leg over the saddle, going to dismount "Thank you for letting me come!" She praised with a grin.

"pfft, not a chance, you should have seen me trying." Sam murmured darkly. "yeah, no worries! thanks for coming along" Sam said to Ellie, hopping of Nero. He then lead him over to the rings, untacked then turned him out into the pasture, where he canteres around for a shot while, then settled on grazing peacefully on a patch of lush green grass, sunbathing.

"I'd love to see you try." Ellie smirked and started leading Astra into to his stable, then untacked and put him in with to graze. Okay, so she had decided then Sam wasn't quite a she had expected, but she wasn't one to flick a switch and be someones best friend over night. She switched halters and went to grab Frost in, deciding that instead of another hack, she would jut lunge.

"ill bet you would." Sam chuckled, grabbing his tack and sitting once more on his sunny rock to clean it. as he rubbed the black leather with a cloth, a small voice in his head said- you know, Ellie is a really nice girl. snap out of it he said back, Sam didnt want to get involved in any girl stuff, and certainly not with somebody he had met just a couple weeks ago, who rode western. she is a friend. he thought to himself, sighing and lying back on the rock, banishing all thoughts and smiling in the sunshine.

Ellie nodded softly as she walked past, her frosty colored mare dancing a little at her side. It wasn't in a horrible way, it was just lightly as if she was exited for something. For what? Ellie had no idea. "Calm down!" Ellie said with a soft chuckle, tying her up to the fence before walking off to the tackroom and coming back out with a bridle and a lunge line. Lets see how you do with this... Ellie thought to herself, sorting Frosts tack out before walking her towards the arena.

Sam lifted his hand in a wave as he watched the prancing icy mare and her partner prepare themselves fo some training.Sam rubbed the tack some more, then once he was satysfied with its cleanliness, he got up from the rock and put it on its hooks in the tackroom. he set about mucking nero out, and once he was done shifting thw wheelbaroughs heavy load, he went to the haybarn to get some straw for Nero's bedding. he found a knife, sliding it under the blue bailing twine to release he hay. he picked up a large amount, and stepped off the haybale he was standing on. Then he tumbled a little, letting go of his load and catching himself before he hit the ground. The hay flew high in the air, before landing neatly in his hair. Sam laughed heartily, pickin it back up and walking out the barn, hay in his golden hair and on his clothes. "ugh" he said, half joking as he shook his head to dislodge the bits of dried grass.

(Oops, sorry accidentally posted on my main >,>) Ellie started to push frost out into a circle... But she just walked back in to her. Ellie tried again, but the same thing happened. "Go on!" She encouraged, swinging the end of the rope to get her mare going, but it didn't seem to work. Ellie stared at the mare for a moment, her brows starting to furrow, "We are meant to be lunging, not in a staring match..." She told the mare as a matter of fact. "So go on, walk." She encouraged, her voice light and springy. She swung the rope a little faster, and walked towards the mare, who didn't walk. Oh no, no, no. She bolted off, dragging Ellie a few steps before the girl let go. "Really?" She questioned, watching the mare gallop around the arena with the lunge line. "Thats not what I meant..." She mumbled under her breath, trying to get the mare to stop, but it was clear that wasn't going to happen any time soon. Theres no point in talking to a horse, she's not going to reply. She told herself, feeling a little stupid. Edited at February 17, 2021 03:18 PM by Teal Elites
