It's alright!// Mr. Holston looked down at his son, seeing he was enraged. "I know you don't like Abi being here, but, she brings in money." He sighed. "But.. I hired a new stable girl recently, Her names Forest.. I think you guys may get along well." He mentioned with a small smile, "She will be staying with us for the summer so she can attend her college whilst working." He stated, "I was wanting you too possibly show her around the house later for dinner, I hope that's alright." He smiled before hearing Abi yelling. Rolling his eyes, he'd turn and walk toward the barn. "Come, you need to stretch your horses legs, they've missed you." He smiled. Forest was still grooming the mare when Abi came back around the corner. "How long does it take to groom a f**king horse!" She yelled. The young burnette looked down at her feet as she put the saddle pad on the mare, watching and feeling at the mare shifted. "You make your own horse uncomfortable, what does that tell you about yourself?" She asked Abi, looking over at her. Abi scoffed, drawing her hand back to aim another slap on Forest's face before feeling a tight grip on the girls wrist. Mr. Holston looked at Abi with disapproval. "Hm." He grunted, pulled the girl away before looking at Forest. "Are you alright, Forest?" He asked, only reciving a nod. He then looked back toward Abi, "Care to explain yourself?" Seeing Liam, Abi puffed up a bit and started throwing a fit, "She's being disrespectful.. Telling me my horse is uncomfortable around me." Mr. Holston would chuckle, "Your horse? Your parents have yet to make a payment too me, She's mine." He stated before noticing how Forest was calming the mare down. "I think our stable girl is better equipped to ride her than you are.. I'll get you an actual broke horse, yeah? Now, go away, and don't let me see you the rest of the day." He told the young blonde, watching as she practially ran away crying. Mr. Holston then turned to Forest, "Congratulations, young lady you just earned yourself a horse and a possible spot at the show coming up, saddle up, I want to see how you ride." He mentioned. Forest's eyes widened as she looked at Mr. Holston in disbelief. "I.. I've only jumped a few times, I'm used to barrels and straight poles, sir." She laughed. "That's alright, I'm sure youll do fine." He replied, looking at Liam, "Come, we will both watch." She told him before walking away. Excited, Forest quickly tacked Devil up and led her out to the showjumping arena. The young woman pulled her hair up into a messy bun. "Need help up? She's pretty tall." Forest shook her head, "Nope. Thank you though, Mr. Holston." She stated before using the fence to swing up onto the mare. The girls posture was nicer than most would think, her body moving as if she were apart of the horse itself. Taking a lap at a lope around the arena, Forest spoke softly to the mare. "That's a good girl.." She mumbled before hearing Mr. Holston tell her to jump. With that, Forest gently turned the mare and they soared gracefully over their first jump. Forests movements being very graceful. It was like watching a bird soaring through the air.

Liam huffed heavily, turning to his dad with his hand clenched. "Yes, dad. Of course I will. I'll be your fucking slave yet again." He said angrily, then turned to look at Forest. He didn't exactly want to come across as too rude to her, she did work for his dad. Still, he didn't wanna come across as too friendly either. "I don't care for her at all dad." He said, gesturing toward Abi. "You're forgetting she slept with my best friend. . Liam headed toward to jumping arena, ready to watch whoever was next. His hands were sweaty, and he found it difficult to calm down. As always. He'd never known how to control his anger, and his ex being there was not helping. Although he didn't think much of Forest, partly because she was new, but also because he didnt have time for absolutely any other girl, he had to admit she knew how to handle horses. She also knew how to stand up for herself when it came to the likes of Abi. That was impressive. Getting tired of watching the jumping, he headed into the barn, and up to one of his many assigned horses. An 18hh Clydesdale stood in front of him, the only draft horse in the whole place. "Hey Winnie." He said, his voice immediately softer. The large bay mare nuzzled his shirt as the stall was entered, and Liam had to be careful not to step on her feathers. "Good girl." He bought her out, clipped her to the cross ties and started up. Being with this mare was the only thing that seemed to help calm him down.

Mr. Holston would watch Forest ride, only glancing at his son as he walked away. After watching Forest for about ten minutes, he smirked, "Of course you will have to train her.. She still needs a lot of work." He chuckled. "But, she is yours for the time being. Training her for me will cover you rent payment so you still get money from working." He mentioned. Forest would nod and smile widely as she dismounted after stopping the mare, "What is her name?" she asked. "Her name is Devil's Runner.. She's got amazing bloodlines." Mr. Holston stated as he put his hand out too the mare, allowing her to sniff. Devil would take a few steps back. "It's alright girl. Mr. Holston ain't gonna hurt ya." She told her softly. The mare just snorted and pawed the ground. Forest just laughed softly and looked at the man. "Seems like she's more of a womans horse as well." She stated. Mr. Holston soon just nodded and they went back into the stable, where Mr. Holston walked away. Hooking Forest too the crossties across from Liam, she looked over at him and gave a small smile. "So, youre the boss man's son, huh?" she asked, her small southern accent coming through. As she talked, the girl was untacking Devil.

Liam was so caught up in grooming the large mare that he had no idea someone spoke to him until he looked up. Hoping it wasn't Abi, he stood up from oiling Winnie's hooves, and raked his hand through his hair to get out the excess hay that the Clydesdale had dumped on him. "Huh? Oh. Yeah. You're Forest rigt?" He asked, attempting to sound as kind as he could. He carried on grooming the whole time he talked, carefully trimming the mares feathers down to the correct length. They grew out so quickly, and it was the only time he'd ever heard of properly having to trim them. "I apologise for Abi's behaviour, by the way. She's..something." He added as he soaked Winnie's chest, nursing where she'd had her op a couple months ago. . He could be nice, when he wanted to. And Forest seemed like she needed it, after he encounter with his ex. He was just hoping his dad would agree to drop Abi soon, it was really fucking with his head. "You're a good rider. Devil seems to like you a lot more than Abi." He said, giving a quick smile before looking back at Winnie, untangling her forelock.

Forest would be spraying Devil's legs off now, making sure they weren't warm or anything, but as she moved up the mares body, she started to pull against the crossties. Forest quickly turned the water off and threw the hose away, putting her hands in the air. "Whoa.. Easy Devil.." She spoke softly, calming the mare down before hearing Liams words. "Y-Yeah.. That's my name." She mentioned to him before looking back at Devil before continuing to work on her, running her hands up and down her body. It wasn't long before she heard Liam apologize for Abi's attitude. "Not your fault, Though, I can't promise if she hits me again I want fuck that pretty little face of hers up." Forest mentioned, her southern accent showing through the words she spoke.

Winnie shifted slightly as Devil spooked at the water, but she soon calmed as Liam gave her a quick sugar cube from the bag next to him, and he carried on untangling her very messy forelock. "Hey, go for it." Liam said, smiling a little. "She'll look better that way." He moved round to Winnie's tail, turned on the hose, and soaked it slightly, with it being incredibly knotted. He frowned. No one round here had seemed to want to pay any attention to her mane, tail, or groom her at that point, and it was worrying him. Had she been fed? Given water? He looked over at Forest, who was still working on Devil. "Could you keep an eye on Winnie for a second. I doubt she'll do anything, but just incase. She has a habit of getting herself stuck under the cross ties. Thanks." It was more of an order than a question, and he left immediately after, not giving her time to say no if she needed to. . Liam was used to that. Growing up, his parents would bark orders at everyone in the form of questions. Especially the cleaner. He'd always felt bad for her as he was younger, but not as he grew up. Hey, cleaning was her job, and sometimes they needed to be put in their place with strict orders. Or that was what did dad had told him every time he mentioned how bad he felt. Sure enough, that had wormed into his brain, and he now followed it. . Liam finally got to Winnie's stall, and raised his eyebrows. Not mucked out, water feeders not cleaned. Not even her food bucket had been taken from yesterday. Sure, her stall was right at the end, but there was no need to just...Forget about her. Right? He headed into the stall, and retrieved the extra food bucket, dusting off pieces of hay as he did so.

Hearing his approval of her statement about Abi, she just laughed, continuing to brush Devil. Though, as he asked her to watch Winnie, she gladly accepted even if he didn't give her a chance to accept. Walking over to the mare, she'd look at her tangled forelock and frowned. She had never been told to do anything with this mare, but, now she only wished she had. "How come Timothy hasn't groomed you properly? Hm?" She questioned the clydesdale as if she could answer. Soon, she noticed Devil getting antsy and went over to her, quickly finishing her grooming before giving her some apple pieces then going over to Winnie, giving her some as well.

After he had mucked out Winnie's stall, cleaned her water feeder and got her feed ready for later, he headed back to the mare. He hadn't taken too long, but not exactly a short amount of time either. "Whoever grooms these horses needs to get a grip." He muttered angrilyto Forest, looking up at her giving apple pieces to Winnie. He had an oncoming headache, and he was growing quite tired of it. It happened at least once every day. "Thanks by the way. For taking care of her." He said, not looing her in the eye. The only time he'd reall said thanks and meant it was when he met someone famous and they complimented him. That was the only time being polite mattered to him.

Forest would look at him as he made his comment. "If I would've known Timothy was doing this, I would've told someone.. But, I get so tired my days become a blurr.." She told him, handing him some apple pieces. "She seems too like these." Forest mentioned. She then turned back toward Devil and unclipped her from the cross ties, leading her to her new stall she had gotten ready before she got here. Afterward, She made sure to do the rest of her chores, feeding her horses before seeing Timothy, "Hey. Why haven't you been taking care of-" She was cut off by the man getting angry and shoving her into the wall. Forest's eyes just widened as tears began to well. Her mind began whirring with flashbacks and other things. After Tim was done yelling, he let her go and stormed off. Forest slid down the wall, just staring off into space, unblinking and seemingly not breathing. It was obvious she was in shock.

Liam nodded to her response, before finishing up with Winnie's grooming before taking her back to her stall. The mare entered without being led in, and turned round straight away, clearly wanting more attention. "I have to go, girl. Stuff to do." He said, smiling. He didn't usually like cobs, or any horses with big featjers for that matter. But she was sweet, and had grown on him compared to when she first came. Liam was just about to head out of the barn, when he heard an angry noise, followed by a short burst of yelling. It stopped, and then there was silence. "What the..." He said under his breath. It sounded like someone had just been killed. He crept round the corner to where the angry noises had been coming from, to see Forest pretty much sat on the ground, frozen and tears on her face. "Are you...okay?" He asked, putting a hand on her arm to make sure she knew he was there.
