The food bag could me bad |
Versailles |
Well. Best I can suggest is trying another brand. Mix it with kibble. That way he gets the nutrition he needs, while ruling out the possibility of too much hydration. |
Hummingbird Meadows |
Maybe I need to go back to it, but it doesn't seem very healthy in terms of wet food. |

Like he was straight up raised on that. No way he just suddenly becomes intolerant. |
Snitches' Stitches |
Arctic You should probably switch from meow mix if your able to something more along the lines of Hills Science diet. Meow Mix is like feeding your cat McDonalds, compared to something that's more formulated for health. Feeding something like Science diet or Royal Canin also allows for more easy switching to a prescription diet if your kitty ever develops a health issue like chronic kidney disease, frequent urinary issues, or bowel disorders. |
Versailles |
That too. Try swapping brands. Although I'm unsure why he'd suddenly be intolerant... I thought he was still on Friskies when you asked me about this last night. Which he was okay with, no? |
The Old Gods |
The wet foods that are in a sauce almost always have wheat gluten in them as a thickener. |
Coruscant Farm |
There's some evidence legumes are bad for their heart too, like stuff with peas or chickpeas. I try to limit what my cats have of that in their diet, but it's so hard to find pea free food. some of the Wellness dry foods are pea free tho. |
The Old Gods |
Could also boil down to being intolerant of ingredients in the canned food |
Versailles |
I don't free feed my cats anymore because every single one I've owned, has eaten until they had awful stomach issues. |
Sforzando |
i free feed my cats kibble and they each get a half can of wet food on my days off, im just extra watchful of my male to make sure he gets enough water so he doesn't get urinary problems |
Hummingbird Meadows |
@Versa, he was only getting half a can of wet food a day so not much. Plus free dry food whenever he wants. |
Rising Stars Stable |
-HEE Click- Okay I was just looking at random horses, like I do, and i came across this stunning art! Just look at it! *0* |
Glacier Bay Cove |
Sometimes I give my cats meow mix dry cat food. They get one spoonful of wet cat food three times a day and the rest of the day they have dry cat food to snack on, when they get hungry |
