The Old Gods
Pup is wanting to commit acts of violence. There's a(nother) stray cat wandering around. This one is meowing and I think it's a queen in heat e_E
Narran Park
She has a bad heart apparently. I got her shaved when she was younger, they had to knock her out to do it, which worked out because they desexed her as well...BUT they said not to do that to her again as she had a bad heart. I just yank any loose mats i can, out, quickly. She is usually pretty good at getting them out...but she is 16 now and getting older
Hummingbird Meadows
@T&K, yup. I even called around it most places don't even do cats and those that do. charge a ton.
Hummingbird Meadows
@T&K, it's crazy how much cat grooming costs in my area. >.< A bath and brush is $150.
Ironhorse
I need to put my cat in a boot and do this.... She does not like me touching her back. She is an outside cat. On our farm.
T&K Ranch
If you can get a comb between the mat and the skin, it won't need to be shaved out. Might take some work but you will be able to comb it out. If not, a shaver is your next best bet. Please don't use scissors. I have seen some nasty wounds on cats from owners using scissors
Hummingbird Meadows
@T&K, thankfully I am good about noticing the mats and I shave them out before they get too big.
Hummingbird Meadows
It's always on his stomach and chest so I have to lay him on his back to get to those spots.
T&K Ranch
Great idea! And once you notice a mat, they will multiply quite quickly! I work for a groomer and I have learn a lot about cat grooms lately lol
Hummingbird Meadows
T&K, yeah I probably need to do a better job with that. Tempted to have him professional groomed to at least get started though.
T&K Ranch
Bird, use a comb to get right to the skin to make sure you are actually getting all the way through the hair and not just the surface.
