I got her shaved when she was younger, they had to knock her out to do it, which worked out because they desexed her as well...BUT they said not to do that to her again as she had a bad heart. I just yank any loose mats i can, out, quickly. She is usually pretty good at getting them out...but she is 16 now and getting older |

| If you can get a comb between the mat and the skin, it won't need to be shaved out. Might take some work but you will be able to comb it out. If not, a shaver is your next best bet. Please don't use scissors. I have seen some nasty wounds on cats from owners using scissors |
