Not sure about moods, but I'm 1000% down for personalities (as long as it has no impact). I think it'd be super cute to have personality-specific flavor texts for explore & treats.

Eh, If its purly cosmetic, it doesnt matter to me at all. Its just more text on a screen.
I would much rather see explore worked on or other things added that affect gameplay.
But, I would be interested if it did affect something, if not right away, down the track. Small features with purpose is what makes the game special :)

I would like to add, that if the Personality/cosmetic cannot be disabled, my vote is a Big NO.

If it is purely cosmetic in the sense that there is just text saying "your horse is angry" I don't think it is worth the effort. I would much rather see other things worked on. Edited at May 12, 2026 05:08 PM by Hummingbird Meadows

Ashcroft Park Stud said: I love the idea of (cosmetic) personalities. It's a fun extra dimension to our horses. Am less enthusiastic about moods, mainly because I'm confident most of my horses would be extremely unhappy as they are in stables 100% of the time and maintaining moods of hundreds of horses would be rather intense x) Although, maybe that could be a new member of the stable staff team to maintain their moods - the horse counsellor?! 🤣 horse counsellor? this would work for bigger stabkes and stuff lkke that i am for this idea

I voted other. If it affects game play, then I'd say no. If it is purely cosmetic then I have no problem with it even though it is not something I would give a lot of attention.

I have to agree with Hummingbird. Seems like a lot of programming, that really does nothing. I feel like there 's already enough stuff that's just 'window dressing'.

I like the idea of it being cosmetic to those that only want to show or breed for showing, but I'd love if we got something that it would effect.
A few ideas.
- In-hand shows where personality and mood effects it. Doesn't require training and would be a great way to get use of horses that are of lower quality eventing wise. This could be great for the more color-focused community or people who just need a new breeding project. Could be similar to the racing and jousting game or maybe something members can host in their arenas for fun.
- We got more ways to interact with our horse and this would effected it. For example, maybe we could get quest from the quest giver to un/successfully groom our horse, take it on a walk, give it a bath, increase their mood to [some mood level], etc and we'd have to select a horse that would give us the best chance of finishing the quest.
- Personalities could effect what type of encouragement they respond to better in exploration, could even get into what their perfered encouragement is dependent on the obstical infront of them. Could make the exploration less likely to just be spamclicked through.
- Horses could favor certian living envirations and putting them in the one they like could give a small bonuses that doesn't directly effect showing and controlled breeding. For example social horses are more likely to breed in pastures, anxiety ridden horses like their stables and train better when there while energetic horses train better when they are housed in pastures. I don't think people would enjoy (currently at least) if these gave any debuffs (slower training, less likely to breed in pastures, etc. But I think most players would enjoy little bonuses.

Like others have said, if personalities or moods were to affect the horse's showing or breeding performance, I absolutely do not want it. And if it's nothing more than extra text in the 'vitals' box, I'd pay about as much attention to it as I do to brands, which is not at all. The only thing that might intrigue me would be alternate expressions for moods (for example: ears pinned back, one ear swiveled, droopy lip, angry mouth, whale eyes), but I'm sure that would be a colossal amount of work for the art team. If it's only an extra line of text that affects nothing, I'm neutral/disinterested.

I had a thought about having gymkhana or trail events for Bravery horses, so you could enter them in overnight classes up to 3x/week in addition to using them once daily for Explore. Would have to be bravery rated in order to enter but would expand gameplay for Bravery fans. Personalities could come into play in that scenario to affect performance, with pros and cons to each? Maybe a Spirited horse has a higher RF on either winning big or DQ in the class. A Laid-Back horse could be more reliable in placing consistently but doesn't often go above and beyond. This wouldn't define every show performance but would be like an added RF unique to that Personality. It also wouldn't affect performance in e/d/xc/j shows, since that would disrupt a long established system, but with new Bravery content, it could work? My mind is a dimension of chaos so maybe this makes sense and maybe it doesn't. Edited at May 13, 2026 04:35 PM by Stormsong Manor
