Ever since painting this monstrosity of feathers, I decided maybe some of my backyard birds could make excellent models for more feathers!

I present to you, a (heavily WIP) cardinal pegasus:

As you can see, this thing is in the EARLIEST stages imaginable, even missing his little hooves and 95% of his shading. But as I was strolling along, painting my little heart out, I realized something important... And it's that I dunno how I want to do his mane/tail.

Mind you, if I end up liking something else better I'm going to go with it instead. But to help me decide otherwise, we come down to a few options:

Option one || A crest with both a traditional mane and tail

Option two || Both a traditional mane and tail with feathers and a crest somehow tied in

Option three || No traditional mane and tail, instead do a crest and tail feathers

Option four || Only a traditional mane and tail, no feathers (excluding the crest)

HE WILL HAVE WINGS AND A CREST REGARDLESS.

I think both 1 and 2 will look awesome.

Edit: maybe 3 if you want to do a peacock horse or a paradise bird type?

Perhaps! It's based on the northern cardinal and they notoriously have giant tail feathers :)

Oops i meant to do 3 TOT coming from experience, drawing big feather tails are REALLY fun XD i had an absolute blast doing one a few weeks ago!
