Yeah that's not going to happen. I'm not taking the chance that he ends up in nasty place. We've had him for almost 16 years and he's not going anywhere.

Apologies if you took that as an insult. It was not meant as one, simply as an option that may not have been considered. As a person who rescues horses like your guy, with difficulties and medical needs, and gives them a forever home, it is something that I personally would see as a possibility.
