So i was given this saddle for my birthday almost a year ago (🙈) and ive used it maybe twice for like 20 minutes each time lol. I just want opinions on how it fits since im not the most experienced with English saddle fitting ^^; (id like to note that in the one taken from directly behind him, I couldnt get him to stand straight as he kept trying to look at me 🥀) |

Aww, Tractor!
It can be very tough to saddle fit via pictures due to most aspects are about the fit of the bottom of the saddle to the horse. It's important to have a hands-on exam to find the problem areas. The Saddle Bank has a good video of the basics for saddle fit and the basic points to check for. Video Link Schleese Saddlery has a nice video that goes deeper into saddle fit. Video link Check the fit with your padding set up too. A lot of times people use a half pad or cushion pad and don't check fit first. I was taught to keep in mind what it feels like to wear a shoe:
A shoe that is too small, how it pinches your toes and restricts movement of your tendons - add a sock to it and the situation is exacerbated.
A shoe that is too big, where friction rubs occur and how movement is impeded. Adding a sock might help but if there's any any narrow points, painful pinching occurs. Checking saddle tree soundness is easy to do as well.

get a pro out! But pommel and cantle should be even. ensure you can ger for fingers between the withers and pommel, with a girth on - again, pro! Don't try and fir it yourself <3 |
