Long story short, I was always a horse person, my ex always wanted horses and he got one while we were dating. We bought his horse, the palomino, 10 years ago and we broke up 2 years ago. I have been boarding my horse, the black overo, at his house ever since the breakup and borrowing/riding Tank regularly. It has been amicable, but we have had some tiffs because his new girlfriend doesn't like me being around the property 🙄. -- Just so you know, I'm very nice, I used to speak for her university class regularly and still mentor 2 of her students each year because my day job and her class overlap. I did everything to not be in their way when I was there, even peed in my horse trailer so I wouldn't need to go inside... I was more than respectful.
Anyhow! The ex told me he was going to sell his horse next month and I almost had a heart attack, thankfully I asked him if that meant he wasn't willing to sell her to me. Thankfully he said he would prefer to sell her to me, but wasn't sure I could make it work. So now I'm working on getting them moved out and boarded elsewhere. It's just funny how the world works out sometimes. LAST night, I talked to my current boyfriend about how I need to tell the ex I want to buy his horse when he's ready to sell. Then, I found a new friend a couple weeks ago through my jumping spider hobby who works at a boarding facility and she said they had openings. I called the boarding place today and I'm taking the last two openings AND it's SUPER afforadable!!!!! HOW LUCKY AM I!!!! Praise Jesus, Budda, Karma, what-have-you. I feel very thankful and blessed right now.
Officially, my two girls, Tank and Birdie. I regularly borrow Tank and trailer her out for rides. I find random young girls to ride her because she is a beginner friendly horse. Even showed her this past weekend! She's definitely a one in a million horse. Edited at August 29, 2025 11:31 AM by SHAE Stables

Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad it worked out. It was a miracle. I was wondering if we were going to get into another tiff about it. I still do all the farrier work, vet bills and carry liability insurance on both of them. He could have easily sold her, though, and I couldn't do much about it. Fantasy Horses said: Congrats!! So pleased for you, but also Birdie and Tank. I bet they make great new friends and may be fitter with more riders.

Thank you so much!!! I'm so so so lucky! I saved all my money as a kid and it was always my dream to have a horse when I grew up. Now I've had horses for 21 years! Lunalovegood said: Aww so cute, Enjoy them both, You are so lucky to have them both :)

Thank you! I'm really happy for them too! They have been together for almost 10 years. It's hard to think of them losing each other. And are you calling them fat?! 🤪 I don't believe they will get rode more. I ride on the weekends mostly and take them for weekend trail rides, but it should still just be me riding them.
