Do you guys prefer showing AD, SD, or a mix of both?

I used to enter all my horses by hand, but it took waayyyy too long. I found myself not entering horses at all because I didn't want to fool with it. Now I'm using the BM and I wish I had done it sooner. She may not make quite as much money as I would, but it's a lot faster and more convenient.

I've always used the barn manager - set to only competitive - and always turned a nice profit. Like last week, pulled in 252k

It's more of a time-saver than anything. She'll help you earn money over time, but probably not as much as if you entered the horses yourself.

Okay interesting, thank you. I will play around with it this GY and see what happens lol

I'm not sure what criteria the BM uses to enter them, but most just leave her set to show the same horses all the time. She's supposed to pick the ones that are expected to do well, but I've heard mixed reviews of her effectiveness.

02:01:01 Fern | Kinz
I see. So say I manage all my horses instead of only picking the ones with double the training bars than their showing level, if I toggle that, she'll only show horses that SHOULD come out profiting and not show the ones that won't? Or would it just be better to go through my horses each Monday after training and have her manage only the horses that meet that double bar standard? Sorry for the questions, I'm trying to finally turn a profit lmaooo

The only time to use "Show All" is if you have futurity foals or horses in an eventing federation where they must show all three shows each week.

So she essentially will only show horses that will come out with profit from showing?

show all, will show everything, even ones that don't have enough training to win money

Hey, what differences come from having the barn manager "show all horses" and "show only competitive horses?" What does that change in terms of who shows, and how is that decided?

I have a mare that i have had since she was 6 months. Im just curious what color she may be. At 3 years old she started getting these white specks of hair all over her body it started on her neck and is now all over her body. Her dam is chestnut and her sire is red dun overo (he is dominate). I dont know much about red duns as i have never seen one up close before.
Picture of her at 3 years old:

Sometimes formal pedigree colors leave out some genes. My AQHA Grulla colt is sired by Beaus Smokin Bleugun. On Beaus papers, it says he is just a "Grulla", but he is in fact "Smokey Grulla". He has a cream gene which no one would know by just looking at his pedigree which is kind of a major gene to leave out LOL Imagine people's surprise when their buckskin mare they bred to a grulla stallion throws out a perlino baby. O.o

It's also why I have to have my boy tested for the cream gene to confirm that he is also a Smokey Grulla like his daddy, since there's really no visual way to be sure. (There are small markers that point to it (cream fur in ears, on the backs of his legs), but I want to be 100%)

I honestly want to gene test her lol im just curious. A trainer guy said that red duns can roan out too and looking at the pictures of her he said its possible she is a red dun just roaning out

Yeah, any color can roan out just like any color can grey. She doesn't look dun to me, but red duns can be more difficult to see. My colt's mother was actually a red dun. Does she have a dorsal stripe or barring on her legs/shoulders?

No dorsal stripe or barring. Her sire is a red dun overo. According to my research she could be sabino instead of overo because her markings arent overo
