Do you guys prefer showing AD, SD, or a mix of both?

I used to enter all my horses by hand, but it took waayyyy too long. I found myself not entering horses at all because I didn't want to fool with it. Now I'm using the BM and I wish I had done it sooner. She may not make quite as much money as I would, but it's a lot faster and more convenient.

I've always used the barn manager - set to only competitive - and always turned a nice profit. Like last week, pulled in 252k

It's more of a time-saver than anything. She'll help you earn money over time, but probably not as much as if you entered the horses yourself.

Okay interesting, thank you. I will play around with it this GY and see what happens lol

I'm not sure what criteria the BM uses to enter them, but most just leave her set to show the same horses all the time. She's supposed to pick the ones that are expected to do well, but I've heard mixed reviews of her effectiveness.
Fernweh QH
02:01:01 Fern | Kinz
I see. So say I manage all my horses instead of only picking the ones with double the training bars than their showing level, if I toggle that, she'll only show horses that SHOULD come out profiting and not show the ones that won't? Or would it just be better to go through my horses each Monday after training and have her manage only the horses that meet that double bar standard? Sorry for the questions, I'm trying to finally turn a profit lmaooo

The only time to use "Show All" is if you have futurity foals or horses in an eventing federation where they must show all three shows each week.

show all, will show everything, even ones that don't have enough training to win money

Hey, what differences come from having the barn manager "show all horses" and "show only competitive horses?" What does that change in terms of who shows, and how is that decided?

Bay with white on butt! July 28, 2017 12:41 AM

*squeal* My colt (in real life) is getting white on his butt as he sheds out his baby fuzz so he's either an appy, a bay roan, or a bay going grey, any of which I'm thrilled with! I was ok with him being a plain, solid baby but this makes the appy-lover, roan fanatic, sucker for a light grey horse person in me soooooo happy. I would love input on who thinks he'll be roan, who thinks appy, and who thinks grey. All we know parentage wise is his mama is a plain sorrel. https://m.facebook.com/You-Will-Be-Found-Mateos-Everyday-Adventures-455557761478978/

From you describtion I would guess roan, because they usually are roaning out from the butt and then it spread to other parts of the body :)
I didn't see any pictures with the white on, but from what I have heard some roan foals do have an adult like color on their body (only body, not legs) so I guess roan :3

If neither his dam nor his sire is grey, he will not become a grey at all.
Same is with roaning, appaloosa patterns or rabicano: At least one of his parents has to have it to pass it on.

I cant see any "white" on his pictures, too.

The white is on the butt in the hay picture. It looks like a glare or something, but it's white fur. :) We have no idea who his dad is, so I'm just dreaming as to what baby boy will be coloring wise. I'm gonna try to get better pics of the white tomorrow...

So its been a while, my baby is a yearling now, and I thought I'd update. Handsome boy is for sure a bay roan, though constantly changing shades still. Super proud of him and how far along his is coming, esp considering where he came from.

Roans will forever change colors especially the ones that don't rain and baby baby's. My mare is a frosty roan when I got her she was basically her base color with some flecking of white and now she's covered in them.

He started solid bay, went all white, went all bay again, and now is about 50/50 but still constantly shifting. I love seeing him change colors. The color he is right now is my favorite though

He is a gorgeous boy! Looks like roan in the video to me though.

I can't see any photos but could be roaning, I have a roan shetland and she looked chestnut at birth, this is her roan coming out when she was a foal:

And this is her winter coat:

https://scontent-syd2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/32941468_433629403749323_2338807536045522944_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=c4b7ab236b5425e98350180d45a61fc1&oe=5BFA8970

And her summer coat:

https://scontent-syd2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/26840860_381076505671280_5081725472476220783_o.jpg?_nc_cat=0&oh=087a41b301f7c53f6b5aea9c8a799e02&oe=5BFEFBA0

They change coats with every season, for part of the year my mare has a white bum/chestnut front, then she looks chestnut, and then during summer she has really dark face/legs and her body goes a strawberry colour, and then she goes almost white all over her body with face/dark legs.
