For breathing + relaxation while training set up a very simple 'mantra' in your head. My most common one, for driving my car, is just 'gently.....gently.....gently'. It calms me down and brings me back to the task in hand safely. I think that would work really well while training with you horse. Let me know if this helps :) Edited at July 11, 2026 02:47 AM by ZeroZero

Unfortunately no lesson today as I had some training for work all day. Next week we'll continue with regular updates!

Ahh!! Back to regularly scheduled content haha. I had a lesson today and it was a little rough at first 😅 I will say I did get better at keeping my toes up, my leg engaged, and felt pretty secure and not as bouncy at the end of the session. Also so proud as it is finally clicking with his steering! If I keep my leg more stable on the left side (when tracking left) it helps keep him from pushing to the inside of the arena and keeping our line straighter, and also seems to help with my bounciness :) I got it down on one side at least, then I tried it the other way and felt really off center so I am not sure what happened there. Moose did feel a lot better, a little more forward today. I got there esrly and spent some time grooming and finding his itch spots haha
