I would love that! We have Primary school which is 9-13 and then High school which is 13-18 but kids tend to fall behind because the curriculum is awful so i'm homeschooling on a british curriculum and getting ahead. I basically want to get ahead, move schools and go work with the kids 3-4 years older so i'm preparing for the testing exam in Jan

This girly is such a stunner as an adult, too bad about the rating but I love her coloring so she's a keeper.

We have quite a different type of High School here, so you can do 4 years > graduate at 16, 5 years > graduate at 17 and 6 years > graduate at 18

Trail Ride, What should I bring? April 10, 2017 05:08 PM

I'm planning to go on a trail ride this Sunday, Easter day, with Mom and her horse, Pandora. I will of course bring Geronimo cause he loves going places. We'll just be going for the day, but I haven't exactly been trail riding, I have been on a trail about 2 times but I was riding by myself while mom followed lol we only did about 2 maybe 3 miles so I only packed simple things.

Since we will be going for much longer on this trail I was wonderding what should I pack, I already have a small list of what I know to bring, but is there anything else I should add to it? We'll be riding in our all purpose English saddles haha cause we aren't western riders, I doubt riding with our English saddles will be harder on the horses, if not be slightly easier on them, then a western saddle. Anyway, so this is currently what I have on my list to bring. We'll each be wearing our own backpacks to carry stuff for each of our horses and ourselves.

This is what I'll be putting in my Backpack;
-Halter + Lead Rope
-Hoof pick
-A Small towel
-Horse Treats
-First aid for both human and horse
-Water bottles
-Snacks

I also have a checklist to make sure I bring all of my tack and supplies.

work with me. im a western rider. always bring an extra bridle and reins. we usually have extra in the trailer all the time. and girth. even if you dont have it in your back pack. its still good to have. you can always put the halter on the horse to get back to the trailer to switch bridles. so that way yall can still go ride instead of going home. water for the horses is good to have too. you can get big 5 gallon buckets with lids. a bucket a horse. i think you have everything you need in your back pack though.

It don't think it would be practical to bring 5 gallon buckets along ;) I'd look for smaller, rubber collapsible ones instead.

I'd also bring a map with you.

i know everyone has their opinions and im not really sure what the weather is like where your at but im down south. and it gets really hot here. and our horses will drink a lot after a long ride. we always bring 5 gallon buckets of water just to make sure the horses have enough to drink. but it also gets way in the 90s here in the summer. now the cooler weather the horses dont drink as much. but again idk what the weather is where you are. plus it never hurts to have plenty of water for the horses. you can never be to safe. dont want the horses to get dehydrated

I'm in west TN and the weather's been good lately so Sunday should be good. And the trail has water stops for horses so I'm not too worried about watering them.

I actually don't have an extra bridle or set of reins on me at the moment, I ordered one a day ago but not sure when it'll arrive, but both of our bridles are newer so we shouldn't have any problems and if we do both know how to ride in just a halter and lead.

When we get there we'll stop and get a map of the trail. I'm also going to be bringing my brothers compass and Swiss army knife incase.

If I were you, i would put the halter on under the bridle. In case of emergency you can easily tie your horse up.

I am a member of a trail riding club, when we go out for the day, we just bring most of the things you have listed. At lunchtime we stop, let the horses have a drink, tie them up, remove the bridles and loosen the girths, while we have a snack ourselves. I ride in a dressage saddle and get along just fine. I have a saddle pad that has a pocket with velcro flap which I keep my water bottle in. I did try a backpack but found it annoying when trotting/cantering as it bounces on your back. Make sure you take your phone and car keys as well!

Bring a bandanna. If your reins break, they make a great substitute.
