I'm not good with judging quality of offspring, but that's a thing you can do. How is his training?

This is the XLB mare I have on my side. At her best, she was #19 XLB. She's now #40 because I haven't tried when breeding in a while

Agreed, weakness creates weakness and its very difficult to breed it out of lines

I've found that weak parents lead to weak foals regardless of rating. Case in point, my X side account which has many WWWs (and actually some XLB mares) because I got a daughter of the #1 X stud during his freshie year when his fee was cheaper. Compared to this account where I just got my first WWW in something like 30 game years and it's because I used the #1 AA stud. I need to get a brood and a TB straw on the high LB to get better foals into my TB lines

I have not been able to crack the code to breeding decently strong EEE's. Despite having hundreds of them. Doesnt seem to matter if i breed EEExEEE or EEExWWW

I have some studs that seem a bit meh, I have been thinking about just using them with decent EEEs and cull the bad training foals

My Riding Story/Update January 30, 2020 02:08 PM

Hello everyone! I just wanted to make this blog to share a little about my riding life the past few months or so..?
I have a 20yo QH gelding that I bought almost 3 years ago, which he has taught me so much in my riding career I can't even explain it. I still have him now and he will have a forever home with me. In October 2019 I was riding a friends horse for awhile and fell in love with him, he was so fun to ride and had an amazing jump. I rode him for about a month, when we decided to buy him. I brought him home and about a week later I had a lesson on him at a local equestrian center, and I noticed he was limping about 15 minutes into my lesson. I was really sad/disappointed when that happened as I only had him at my house for a few days. We had the vet out a couple days later and found out he had a suspensory tear in his front left leg. The vet said he can't jump anymore, which I bought him for that. She said he'd be great for anything but that, which was very disappointing. We made the tough decision about a month or two later after he healed, to sell him. He went to a family which I'm very happy about, it was just sad to see him go as I loved him dearly. Late December came around and my horse Willie (20yo QH) became lame. We had the vet come out for him, and I can't quite remember what happened but his knee was very swollen and he could barely walk, I gave him bute and antibiotics and he's now looking a lot better. I've worked him a little to see how he's doing recovery wise, but he's now 100% there yet. So I've been riding my 25yo Arabian, very light work but he's just fun to get on and walk/trot around. I've decided to take lessons on my trainers horse Astro, he's as 17.2hh Thoroughbred gelding. He's such a sweet boy and I hope to improve my self with him! The past few months horse wise hasn't been amazing, but it's taught me that everything happens for a reason. If one door closes, another will open. I'm glad I have the opportunity to ride Astro, and I can't wait until I can get back on my boy soon.

Thanks for reading this if you stuck through it lol :)
