I'd prefer them not to be up there lol. Only reason they can get up there is because of the microwave, which will get moved once the stand arrives

Eury, is that good or bad?

True, Al
Also not having wk4 and such tracked makes him difficult to match if you do want to make the effort

He was bred mostly to EWE combo mares this year. Like Munn said he would probably do better with stronger mares as he will just keep producing average if he's only bred to EWE

That's what I am curios about I think I had purchased a horse f4om that breeder before and ended up doing better with better mares. I am going to retrack the training as well so hopefully that will give insight

It's really hard to say, as only 2 weeks of his training were tracked.
Not impressed by his foals either, as most rated EEE.
However, he could do ok with really good mares.

I know he was bred mostly to EEE mares so I'm wondering if breeding him to EWE mares next year will produce better results

Ok, does he mostly produce foals that end up being good breeders or do they mostly end up being not so good out of his overall foal crop

I just bred this brindle filly and it got me thinking. Why doesn't brindle go over white markings like chimera does?

Brindle is only on the colored part of the horse. It is part of their base coat. Chimera is different. It goes over top of the coat and pattern

White markings are epistatic genes. That means they cancel out the expression of any other color gene in that cell. White "masks" every other color, because the ability to deposit melanin in the hair is blocked in those cells. So it affects both solid and brindle markings. It's like painting white paint over the color of the coat.

True chimera is two different embryos (fraternal twins) fused into one. So you have patches of color that are from twin A and patches from twin B. The patches are dependent on which embryo the cells came from. If one is, say, black with white the patches that came from its, for example, chestnut twin can be mixed in with either the black or the white. If twin B had white, also, you can get some of the white patches being part of the chimera.

One interesting thing about chimera horses, color-wise, is that the main coat color may not be inherited in the offspring. Whichever twin donated the DNA for the reproductive cells will pass on its color to the foals. So you could have a black with white markings with one small patch of chestnut, but still get foals from the chestnut horse's DNA.
