I've been meaning to buy a casette player recently but they are so expensive! I really want a portable one with good radio transmission and so i was looking on Amazon, Takealot and the lot. Found one for R289 which translates to $18. So not to bad but then i see the radio signal is rubbish and i don't like the style. This went on for a while until i upped my price range, found a stunning one for R1810/$111. Said to myself that it would be a big purchase but worth it so i look at tapes... $20 for a single album??? $20! It was the Nevermind Nirvana album but $20 is absurd to me. Is this a reasonable price to be asking? To me R300 is a lot of money that can buy 3 of the ponies feeds

A great discussion, pricing can be difficult, but it is helpful to see different opinions and experiences from the community. Edited at July 2, 2026 10:25 PM by JamesDCadwell

I'm not sure if you specifically wanted a casette player or just to listen to music, but I just listen to music on Spotify mostly, and its free. A lot of radio stations also now have a website where you can listen to the radio on your phone or computer. But if you really want a casette player then its worth it! Its not too expensive if its important to you and something you really want
