I've been on a mission to get to 500 on my letterboxd films count, so now i'm looking for things to watch since my notes app watchlist is intimidating XD Share your favorite series/movies, recent watches, etc!! I'm going to attempt to keep this thread alive so anyone can get good recs, personally i love really heartwrenching or just dark and depressing stuff, genuinely relentless emotional terrorism lol xD Edited at June 26, 2026 02:20 AM by Dash and Duchess

May I recommend "Kevin Can Go F*ck Himself"? It's only 2 seasons and then done, super well written and a really intruiging premise, and REALLY dark with a very strange emotional twist. I don't want to say too much without spoilers but like. It is so so good.

I'll just drop a couple disturbing entries here: The Lobster--absurdist comedy about being a couple Killing of a Sacred Deer--psychological terror and an oldie you might have seen: Memento--an amnesiac tries to regulate himself

I recently watched Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen and liked it. Undertone just came out on streaming. I thought it was okay, not the greatest, but it's entertaining. We saw it in the theater and my husband loved it. Stuff that's been out a while that has stood the test of time for me: Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, Fall of Usher, Midnight Club - definitely a theme here but I'm OBSESSED with Flanagan's work. Obsessed with The Menu as well. The Void. The Terrifier movies are great too. An absolute must-watch is going to be Marianne. It's French, but has English subtitles.
