I would still appreciate some tips here :)
The horses are very bright in comparison to the background lighting. Also, the bay's nose doesn't look like it has pink in it til you get up close. Otherwise, I think it's beautiful.

Looking great, Breezie! First off, I think this would be better if there was a clear light source. Right now, it's just kind of out in the open. The light source doesn't have to be super bright and attention grabbing, but it should be enough that the horses' coats are effected, whether subtly or clearly. I think with this piece, putting more contrast in the sky could have been decent enough. That way it'd seem more likely that there'd be purpley blue light on the edges of the horses. If you were feeling more adventurous, you could also try and work a moon in there, though I'm not sure if it's make it too cluttered or not. Besides this, the horses should also be darker. Use an eye dropper on areas in the sky and toy with layer settings on a clipping mask so you can blur on these darker colors. If the definition on the horses is gone when the lighting become right, you'll have to go through and do some more highlighting. Lastly, I think the silvery horse's mane is straggly (needs to be more full) and needs more highlights/shadows. Using a bright purple-blue color with a small brush will also help it match the piece more. That goes for all of both horses, actually.

Here is the finished version of the earlier piece

The rider/jockey's arm draws a lot of attention away from the horse. It would most likely blend better if it was darker to match the horse and the background. Fabulous mane!

Very pretty, Raven! I love the style you chose for this. Yes, I agree with Gem. The jockey's arm is too bright and distracting. Work with some dark colors on a new layer, toy with settings, and adjust opacity until it looks less out there. Other than that, the next thing my eyes are drawn to is the yellow glow. Glow behind the horse is great, as it helps separate it from the background and focus attention there, but the glow shouldn't be super noticeable like that. If it was gone, you'd now, but when it's there, you don't really notice. That's how I like it, anyway. So I'd say expand the glow just a tad so it stretches out a little farther, then change the layer setting to Soft Light (or whatever equivalent you're art program has) and mess with opacity if needed. As for the body prep, I love the look you went for, I just think it needs a little more definition. Small shadows and highlights on all of the muscles will really tie it together. Lastly, I'd put a few more layers/shades of small highlights in the hair, as well as a little bit of green highlights on soft light low opacity. This is really gorgeous, though. The hair shape and sharpness of the tack on the horse matched with an awesome eye and a pretty facial marking is BOMB. Great job, love. Oh, a little more blur on the background wouldn't hurt. But it's fine how it is if you don't want to change it. :) Edited at May 6, 2020 09:30 AM by Amhain Dull Liath

Hey y'all! just out of curiosity, what do y'all think I need to work on in order to move up to tier 1? I've posted a lot in here (and after the Rumble is over, I may post one or two more pieces) but I can post more examples if y'all need.
I really just want to know what I can work on to be able to move up to Tier 1 also, thank you all for your help thus far! It's been awesome getting help from such an awesome community like y'all!! Edited at May 10, 2020 12:36 PM by Breezie Rose
